We met over 15 years ago when we were booking rock bands for the Beachfest, a local music festival here in Long Beach, CA. Since then we have seen hundreds of shows together. This is our forum to talk about concerts, bands and records that we love in the hope that we can keep rock alive.

Since we've written about Rival Sons on many previous posts, we simply wanted to share video of their Saturday, December 28th show at the Vinyl Venue inside the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. This marks the 5th and most soul scorching and epic Rival Son's show we've witnessed to date.
During the show, Rival Sons shared the news of their return to the recording studio next week to lay down tracks for the next album.
Although we often post set lists, this time we were unable to obtain one. Listed is what we can remember, in no particular order, other than the first 6 songs include the video footage for this post:

We anxiously await the sixth show, New Year's Eve in our hometown of Long Beach.
We were lucky enough to catch one of the Def Leppard shows during their recent residency at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas which started on March 22 and runs through April 13. The band billed the show as VIVA! Hysteria & MORE, due to the fact that they were playing the album Hysteria in its entirety.
The night began with the house PA playing The Who's " Won't Get Fooled Again." The curtain went up half way through the song, then Def Leppard finished playing the song much to the delight of the roaring crowd. The first set of the show was a special treat for the die hard fans of the bands' older music. They played "Rock Brigade" and "Wasted" from their debut album OnThrough the Night. Singer Joe Elliott has said on several occasions that the band wouldn't play these songs since they were from a different era of the bands' line up. They also played several songs from Pyromania, including "Foolin'" and "Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop).
After a 20 minute intermission, the band came back and played Hysteria in order and in its entirety. The song "Pour Some Sugar On Me," sent the crowed into a frenzy. The two song encore of " Rock of Ages" and " Photograph" kept the packed crowd on their feet, singing out loud 'till the last note.
