Long Beach's Summer and Music concert series got off to an incredible start tonight with the second annual Dancin' in the Streets event. This year's headliner was Brushfire Records' recording artist Matt Costa. Costa's laid-back blend of pop, roots and folk-rock was a perfect fit for the evening of dancing and drinking. This was our first time seeing Costa play live and to be frank we were blown away by his performance. He is an incredible singer/songwriter and his music reminded us of a cross between Wilco and classic Simon and Garfunkel. Costa seemed very comfortable on stage in front of the capacity crowd and took the opportunity to tell them about his time living in Long Beach and songs that he wrote while he was a resident.
